Smash Cake!

Our first smash cake! Who doesn't love watching a baby dig into cake on their first birthday? So when sweet little Elias turned one we were super excited to make his cake! The party had a moose theme and of course the cake has to match! We just think the baby moose is adorable, but not as adorable as Elias tearing into his cake! For everyone else, moose decorated cupcakes. The cake & cupcakes were white with buttercream icing. The moose are made from chocolate fondant.

Isn't he the cutest!?

Here comes the bride!

I am in love with this cake!! Although stressful at times, it was really fun to make! I felt like a wedding dress designer! The all white design is really classic and pretty but it definitely could be made to look like a particular dress, if desired. It is a white cake with buttercream, covered in fondant (lots of fondant!)

Tool Box

Making a 3D cake was a little intimidating, mostly because this was our first time attempting it. This was a good one to try as our first because it is a little on the simple side (hopefully not too simple, tho!) There are some rough edges but, as a whole, it is so cute! The client pretty much gave us the freedom to design it as we saw fit which was so helpful because it eliminated A LOT of stress. It is a marble cake with buttercream icing, covering in fondant.  The tools are also fondant.

Twinkle Twinkle

Whew! For reasons we still can't figure out, this cake was a huge challenge! Most of our troubles arose when it came time to transport the cake. While we aren't totally satisfied with the final product we do love the idea of it and think it turned out as well as it could, considering the issues we had.  It was for a gender unknown shower so we love the incorporation of traditional girl and boy colors. The cake is classic white with buttercream icing.

Lil Wolfpup

The pressure was on for this cake.  As an alumnus of North Carolina State University, I (Jessica) really wanted our first NC State cake to be a great one.  I think we succeeded! This was our first attempt at making baby shoes and they turned out so good! The polka dots are perfect for a baby shower cake and we just love the "lil wolfpup" phrase, which was suggested by the client. It is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing.

Flower Power

I wanted to try this design for a while and thought my best friend's birthday was the perfect occasion! The best part of this cake is that almost any flaw can be covered. The flower was really simple to make and adds a girly touch! It is a strawberry cake and buttercream frosting.

All Tangled Up

When little Katelyn requested a Tangled cake we were so excited.  Little did we know this would be our most time-consuming one, yet! But, we could not be happier with the oh-so-cute tower and it was definitely well worth the work and time put in! Katelyn loved it, too! It is a strawberry cake with buttercream frosting.

Play Ball!

We really enjoyed throwing around ideas for this baseball themed cake. There were so many ways we could have gone with it but we didn't want it to become too busy. We love the final product and little Dawson did too! It is a classic white cake with chocolate buttercream. The "dirt" is crushed chocolate graham crackers.

Deployment

This was a special cake for a young man being deployed overseas.  When we got the request we knew immediately it would have a "patriotic" theme.  And what is more patriotic than the American flag? We love how the stripes drape off the cake and all the colors turned out perfect.  The dog tags were definitely a challenge, but we think they look awesome! The cake is chocolate and white layers with buttercream icing.

Boys Will Be Boys!

If there is one constant in this world it is that boys love their trucks! And little Henry is no exception! When he saw his cake for his 5th birthday party, all he wanted to know was when could he play with the trucks!  Needless to say, this cake was cut into really quick! It is strawberry flavored with classic buttercream, dyed blue. Oh, and crushed graham crackers as the "dirt."

Sweet Baby Girl

This cake is our most popular one, yet.  And why shouldn't it be? It is adorable! We think it has the perfect combination of daintiness and femininity. Plus, who doesn't love a sleeping baby?! The cake is strawberry flavored, with strawberry icing filling, and white buttercream, covered in fondant.

Baby Cole

For this sweet baby shower cake we were given a polka dotted cup to match. The colors were perfect and we love how simple but pretty it turned out. The stars add a little flair, but not so much to distract from the overall cuteness! It is a white (dyed blue) and chocolate cake, with buttercream icing, and covered in fondant.

See how perfectly matched the colors are? Love it!

Teacher's Pet

This was a congratulations cake for my little sister on getting her first teaching job! We were so happy for her and wanted to surprise her with a fun cake. She loved it! The "chalk dust" is too cute! It's a chocolate cake with classic buttercream, covered in fondant.

Tinkerbell!

This cake was for a little girl's 3rd birthday! We had so much fun making it! My favorite part is the flower that Tink is standing in. I love how it is girly and so perfectly Tinkerbell! The cake was marble flavored with buttercream icing, dyed pink, and covered in pink fondant. The figurines were bought by the client.

Froggy Prince

This adorable cake was requested for a frog themed baby shower! The client only specified that she wanted a frog figure and pretty much gave us the freedom to design the rest of the cake. We think it turned out super cute & she loved it! The cake is white sour cream dyed blue (how fun!) with classic white buttercream.
